Saturday May 23rd, 10am
Even though we can't meet at as a full troop, there is a very important service opportunity. Memorial Day will be here on Monday and it is the tradition of Troop 283 to place flags at the graves of military veterans at Summit Hill Cemetery and Parkers Lake Cemetery in partnership with the Wayzata American Legion Post. We will meet Saturday at 10am at the Wayzata Legion Club. Please stay in your cars as we keep our social distance. The flags will be divided between two groups and then each group will go to one of the cemeteries to place the flags. Each group is allowed no more than a total of 10 people made up of scouts, parents and family members. Please wear your Class A uniform and a face mask is strongly recommended. To register for the event, please follow the link below. No more than 10 people per group will be allowed to participate in order to follow BSA's current meeting policy.

Jackie has a wonderful opportunity: On Sunday, May 31, 9 a.m. to noon, help plant 23 different species of woodland perennials in Hardenbergh Open Space and Maple Creek Park. More than 2,000 plants will be sown to fill in areas where buckthorn has been removed. Hardenbergh Open Space is a truly unique space among Plymouth's parks. Maple Creek Park neighbors have been successfully battling buckthorn for years. Come and check these places out!
Volunteers will follow safe social distancing practices. To register, let me know at [email protected] or 763-509-5230 if you'd like to participate. I will send parking and other important information to those who have registered. I hope you can help out!
