James J. Hill Days
September 7th and 8th
James J. Hill was an owner of the Great Northern Railroad Company. He built the train depot in 1906 and contributed significantly to make Wayzata the beautiful, friendly community it is today. Enjoy fun, food, friends, and come together to celebrate Wayzata!
The troop has two booths at the event. We need both Scouts and adults to help staff them in order for the event to be a huge success. Please sign up for one or both. You can also march in the front of the parade as part of the color guard with the American Legion, or along with Pack 283.
Coaster Cart Derby (September 7th)
The Coaster Cart Derby is a family event using gravity-propelled vehicles. This competition is for kids (6-14 years old) and the cars they build with the supervision of their parents. Scouts will help manage the race.
Archery Booth (September 7th)
Supervise and instruct kids at the inflatable archery booth. This is one of the very few free events at the event, so it's a big hit with the young ones.
Parade (September 8th)
Four Scouts (two from the boy troop and two from the girl troop) are needed to march along with the American Legion as part of the Color Guard at the head of the parade. This is really special. First come, first served.
Scouts and Scouters are needed to march with Pack 283 in the parade.
